About
INCANDESCENT

Incandescent is a name that has followed Jinjin for many years.

It is not about light itself but about an enduring attachment to the word and the intensity and persistence it suggests.

What began as a personal signature has now become the identity of her jewellery practice.

Incandescent Jewellery works through wrapping, covering, and reconstructing familiar forms.

The pieces shift the relationship between what is seen and what is hidden, questioning how value is built and how desire operates.

By using materials such as paper, nylon, cork, fabric, and imitation stones in place of precious ones, we challenges the assumption that value comes only from material worth.

The practice is concerned with how jewellery can operate as both object and system.

A necklace or a brooch may appear to hold significance because of its surface or the way it is presented.

Incandescent aims to reveal that what looks precious may be only an image, a structure, or a projection, and in this way it invites the viewer to reflect on their own way of seeing.
